Hi

Yesterday after messing around in the garage with my bug
Came across a box of spare parts and in the box I found one more spare distributor
Besides the 2 009 that I have and look at the part number and is this one 043 905 205 C
It has a centrifugal and vacuum advance the only thing is that the vacuum can is missing
The fitting where the vacuum hose connects to it
Could this be one of the stock svda distributors
Cause in www2.cip1.com they have 2 of them and have same par numbers the only thing that doesn’t add up are the letters at the end
These are the ones that they sell as svda

043 905 205 zb
043 905 205

As Glenn said in your other thread, 043 905 205 zb is the Mexican one. It is essentially the same as the original that came on 1974 and later Beetles.

yea that was what I thought the thin is that the vacuum can has the vacuum retard on the back
that is the reason that I ask

Paul Windisch Thu Nov 05, 2009 2:15 pm

The 205 zb should only have one vacuum port on it, and that port is advance only. If you also have a retard port, then it is the wrong vacuum can for the 205 zb.

I have this one 043 905 205 C not the 043 905 205 ZB

That is for a 1971 beetle. DVDA.

Edit: Correction, it is a replacement for a 113-905-205AJ in a 71.

Sorry for the misinformantion.

it has a centrifugal advance and double vacum canister

and it's for a Beetle 1974 * 1600 Calif Manual Trans

OK, the double vacuum canister, one is advance, the other is retard. You probably know that already, but I don't believe it will work well in a 1974 1600 dp. If you do use it, leave the retard port disconnected (for good)and time it like a 009 with the advance vacuum port disconnected (put back after timed).

If I remember correctly, the 1974 1600 dp distributor is essentially the same as the 205 zb, which is the single vacuum dual advance, assuming you have the 34 pict carb. I don't think they ever put a DVDA on a '74 from the factory.

Well that is what it says in oldvolks and I’m wondering if it will work on as 1600 sp with H30/31

You should read this thread about what distributors work best with H 30/31
