Just a few updated pictures. Should be getting a lot more done on this one now that the BD Kombi is at the bodyshop.
Original front floor, probably the best part of the truck
Some of the damage, it is worse than it looks, The "X" was caved in at one point, as well as a section of the roof. Hauling bricks...
The frame parts coming together.
Prepping the floor to weld in.

Not really. I run a VW shop called Concept-1 in Calgary. We work on all VW's but in reality it's mostly water cooled. Not too many customers around here for the oldies. So the buses are mostly for fun, although we will use this one, just like we use the single cab around town.
I am going to rust repair a 53' single cab for a friend of mine next winter. Looking forward to that.
Thanks, Here is a few links to my most recent projects.

I have a few older builds as well, but they are not buses. |

| I can't believe you were working on this at the same time as the 54. Have you been doing customer cars during this time as well?? When do you sleep? Unreal |

| Ken I'm glad you decided on 'the other' doublecab looking at your progress has got me somewhat motivated to get going on the one I still have. I look forward to seeing more. Going out back to see if I can still open the garage door :) |

Well, Now that the 54' is done, Here's what's been happening with the DC.
Dropped her out on the island with Jim at Original Restorations. I just couldn't find the time to finish the metal work, while keeping going on the Kombi. He told me to drop it off like it is, as he "likes" this kind of stuff. Pretty rare to hear that from a body shop.
Before she left here we fitted the Creative engineering rack kit, the 5 speed 901, the IRS with Air, and the creative Safari's.
And here's what he's gotten done so far.
