Anyone know if an autostick shift rod (73 standard) is the same as one for 4 speed tranny?

Thanks

Actualy the Autostick shift rod is shorter than the 4 speed

I have a 68 Autostick that I converted to 4 speed and had to chege the shift rod

That's what I'm doing with my 73 std. I hooked the autostick rod up today but it didn't shift properly. I have an adjustable coupler I can weld to the rod. How much shorter was the autostick rod?

Just a couple of inches don’t remember how many but I replace the shift rod and the shift rod bushing when I was at it.

I was much easier to weld and grind

I ran into that also. I had a 69, and it was an auto, that I changed over to 4 spd. The tube was definately different!
