Hey yall.
I have a 72 super beetle and a 69 Type II transporter. I put a brand new 1833 cc engine in the Van but got in a wreck recently and am wondering what it will take to put that engine in the beetle. I have heard that they take the same stock 1600cc engine so since the 1833 fits in the van it should fit in the beetle too right?
The only difference I noticed in the two engines is the placement of the airpan and the size of the fan shroud. If I replace the shrouds can I make the switch? |

| If the engine is a Type 1 based engine.. it will fit. |
