I am aware that the bug tow bar will not work on a bus...but will it work the other way using a bus tow bar on a bug?

Reason is i busted my bug tow bar and i want to get a new one but i also have a bus project in storage waiting for me to start in a few months. >i'll be here asking questions i'm sure :)

Any way if i could get a new tow bar that works for both would be great. i have 69 bug and i think my bus is a 70

any body know

I was getting ready to answer "Yes" as I heard fellow Samba members say it could be done, but went out the the garage and measured mine.

The beam clips/brackets on my bus tow bar measure 24" from outside edge to edge and 28" on the Ghia/Bug tow bar. It may be that the bug tow bars mount closer to the edges of the beam to clear suspension components. If no one answers or confirms this, I can pull the Ghia out of the garage tomorrow and test fit.

I don't think they will work.

I don't know for a fact they won't work, but I am pretty sure they won't.

Beetle ones are cheap.
