| 79 bus. drives great no prob at higher speeds but as you slow to a stop and then accelerate she dies. She starts right back up. Whatcha think? |

| why do you say brake vacuum leak? checked and replaced all old and cracked vacuum lines. |

| somewhat confusing because you say AFM and carb in the same breath. So if it is carbed and the brake thing doesn't work out as the problem, my next guess is that you have a dual can vacuum advance? Is this correct? If so then check the vacuum hoses on the advance side and the diaphram on that side to be sure it works. Dual vac cans retard the timing and if the advance side isn't working right the extra load of stepping on it when the timing is retarded will cause the engine to die. |

| was there a dual vac avail for FI? I am not familiar with such a setup. although 79 was a strange year, anything is possible i guess, they had breakless points from the factory, right? |

yes to hall effect.
If sold as Federal single advance only, if sold in California dual advance.
