Hello,
I am new to this forum as well as VW ownership. I bought a 76 Riviera a few months back and have been working on restoring it. Today I have hit a snag... The sliding door retaining lock that I thought never worked decided to work and grab the door and now it won't let go no matter how much I wiggle the handle and curse...
Am I going to need to remove the door?

| Your'e not going to be able to remove the door if it's on the open latch but you may be able to get at the latch screws if turning the handle up as Vdub suggests fails to open it. |

| Thanks for the quick replies. Lifting up on the handle didn't seem to do anything but I managed to use brute force to pull it out of the retainer. Looks like just one more thing to fix :) |
