So i was looking around the battery area today and noticed a hose coming out of the fire wall and dangling over the battery.. and there is a bolt blocking it off... just wondering if this hose is important at all and if i should be connecting it to anything...

You should hook up a charcoal canister and a stock air filter/oil bath. I hear they are the cats meow! I'm in the process of doing that right now.

Leave it blocked until you add the charcoal canister and oil bath air cleaner. That line is connected to the fuel tank and with the correct setup the gas vapor is filtered by the charcoal canister and dumped into the air filter. If you unplug the line without hooking it up as stated, you'll have gas vapor fill the engine bay... not a good scenario.

It definitely is. I switched over from dual carbs(evil aircare) to a single and I put the chrome air filter on. So I've got a nice new one on too, and I'm not the richest person in the world either. I'm a designer in animation, that's like being a student! ahah.
Anyway, your engine will be happier. Mine is cranky with me right now cause I don't have the stock one on there. But I'm going to put mine back on once I get the last little bits that I need to do it.

Shiny chrome doesn't filter air very well. Do the stock oil bath.
