View original topic: Mounting late headbanger cabinet in transporter

I'd greatly appreciate if anyone who's done the transporter -> westfalia interior could share how to mount the headbanger cabinet.

I was thinking of using a flat piece of wood to emulate the bottom of the top bed on campers and bending some L brackets so they could be screwed into the metal to support it.

Pictures would be great!

I recently installed a headbanger shelf in my '71 transporter [thanks to BellePlaine for the loan of the pattern].
The back edge was screwed into a flat area of the body, just above the window.
For the sides..........I ripped a piece of wood so that the bottom would be level, to mate with the shelf. Then screwed the wood to the body and fastened the shelf to the wood w 2 screws and one # 8 thrubolt on each side.
Sorry, no camera and the bus is 6,000 mi away.

No worries. It wouldn't have helped that much anyway. I have a late Westfalia interior :)

By the way, I should specify:
