| Did you re-time the engine after you installed the electronic ignition? Isn't the Accufire the EMPI brand? I think I had an Accufire and had nothing but trouble. I would use Pertronix or Compufire. Some of the kits require you to set an air gap between the Hall sender and the magnet... |

| Start with the basics. compression, valve adjustment. check plug condition. black or white, timing carb adjustment. disconnect one plug at a time to see which cylinder is weak. Points , dwell. Should point point something. Thanks Pete |

| Agree with Matt, start off by re-timing distributor. |

Did you re-adjust your timing after installing?
After installing my Compufire I noticed that the orientation of the distributor was different. #1 wire was located in a different spot as you look down at the distributor. |

| Well i installed the kit and put the distributor back in at top dead center. had to mess with it a little to get it started, then it cranked right up. I need to adjust my valves, and i have new plugs and wires as of a month. Are there any tricks to timing it without a light? But these have been super helpful. thanks guys! |

| You need a real timing light to get it to work correctly. |

|
| You cannot time a point replacement system properly without a timing light and the timing will be in quite a different place than with points. |
