Hey guys, my windshield area was badly rusted so I had to do the inner section too. I have one problem, I do not have the good dimensions to be sure the windshield fits. How would you guys do that? considering I currently do not have a windshield. Anybody of you guys could give me the dimensions? Here are some pictures. Thanks a lot for the help
Also i have the windshield repair parts from cip1:
Every tips is appreciated :) |

What you are asking for is 1000 measurements that may or may not be accurate depending on where 2 different people put the end of the tape.
What you need to do is sit the windshield in the hole and get the top gap the same as the side gaps, then build the bottom so the gap is even all around. If you are in doubt go a little bigger, you can add filler but it's hard to remove metal or glass. |

There is some windshield measurement info here (scroll down to near bottom of first page)

but I think Busdaddy is right - you'll have to fudge it in yourself once you have the windshield. |

If you don't have a window right now, could you maybe get some thick construction card and find another van, then make a template of the window. Might be better than nothing.

So it might be wise to wait until I have a windshield to do this area?
Is there somewhere where they do good deals on windshields? Or should I go see my local windshield dealer? |

| That's likely something you will want to get at a local auto glass shop. They can order stuff for you. Be aware, however, that some windshields come with the top part tinted, which some drivers (including myself) find highly annoying. |

Hi, I can take the measurments for you. My glass is not fitted (yet).
Do you need the dimensions off the glass or only the opening?

I wouldn't cut both the inner and outer metal away at once.
First you cut the one that is more rusty, then you weld in the new part and after that you get rid of the other side and put and the new one on...
But i think that's too late for you :) |
