I started when i was 14 it was a very fun experience
Started with this.


It took me 7 years, but that was because i did alot of sports and such in high school and had no time for a job im 20 now going on 21 and i just finished in july here she is




The most important piece of advise I can give you is even when your car push's you to your wits end keep going, There's no other feeling in the world when you get to drive your project for the first time. Also when you get to show people all your hard work.

I managed to get that engine running with no VW knowledge, although we did take it apart to paint everything bitching blue! Hahahaha

The engine had run when it was parked, my uncle laid it in a ditch when enrolling in college back in '76 and it was parked with a dented rear fender for a long time. Then the classic stuck auto stick valve syndrome.

We went into that project with the best plan, at least it seemed so. We had all the repairs laid out, etc.

I wound up selling that car and a 10' fiberglass boat for $100 and bought my first computer in '82 . . . :wink:

Nice job! I like that you've got all the window chrome on.

well im going to the shop today gonne start sand blastin engine tin and misc motor parts ill be posting pictures as i go so keep checking back ill also be posting some videos :lol:

No way, your from Clallam Bay man thats a small world. I lived between sekiu and Neah Bay. My son attended and graduated from Clallam Bay. Spent many a day on the side line watching CB beat NB. They went to the state finals the year he graduated.
