what switches are for a superbeetle. Which ones are neccecery like the hazard switch. I want to clean up my dash to make it look prettier and want as least switches as i can. My rear defroster doesnt work and i cut off the fog lights that used to be there. So there is two i can remove. Will there be any ill effects of this?

Also on the headlight switch (which i OBVIOSLY need) what is the dial next to it? Clearly mine doesnt work if i dont know what it does. With the car on ive tuned it with both the lights on and off, and nothing. What is it supposed to do? and what could be the issue

the wheel next to the switch is the light dimmer, it controls how brightly your speedo gets lit up at night (with the lights on).

You can remove the rear defrost switch easy enough, just make sure you disconnect the wires for it from the fuse box so you don't have any stray live wires floating about.

What I did with the hazard switch was ran one from an earlier flat screen beetle which has the old round switch and mounted it down next the ash tray in the ciggy lighters old hole, that cleaned up the dash panel alot.

is it a straight swap to the old round one? Thats exactly what im looking to do. I hate the huge rocker switches. Look like crap.

The wiring is all the same, you just need to mount the switch some how.

I just found a pic of mine, it was actually the old fan switches spot it was mounted in.
I had gone back to the original rocker hazard switch in this pic so I used the hazard switch for my foglights instead.
