| i took out the battery and charged it and tested it with the volt meter and it was reading 13 volts and then i came back an hour later and it dropped to 12 can that cause the alternator light to turn on? do i need a new battery? |

| Take the battery in and have it load tested at a parts store. A hydrometer can be used to test the individual cells for specific gravity. |
