Hi guys !

i have installed a set of mahle flat pistons , an engle 100 , 1.25 rockers and chrome moly pushrods on my car`s 1600cc engine ....

i still have the 34pict 3 og carb , and every morning i turn the engine on , it shakes , uneven idles , hesitates and tend to stop till it gets warm .....

the mechanic told me that the carb is not a good choice for that setup , and recommended me dual 34 `s or bigger .....he also told that they would help the engine to run better and deliver it`s full potential ....

what carb set would i install ?? i don`t want to go with chinese crap .

on the other hand , i would like to install "okrasa" style filters like the ones i make , but i see webers have the linkage close the carbs and only paper filters can be fitted ....

any help ??

btw: where can i get genuine 1302 rear torsion bars and torsion bar rubber bushings ???? new ones)
thank you !

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak. Don't assume that the carb is junk. Check for leaks at the intakes at the head connection as well as the intake boots. I think you have one side that is leaking causing engine shake and poor idle.

You can also get some carb cleaner and spray into all carb/intake connections while the engine is running. Listen for RPM changes while you spray into the mentioned areas. Check the carb gasket area as well. This will indicate your leaking area.

If you want you could use the bellcrank style of linkage. That would allow you to use your type of airfilters.I personally prefer the baby Dellortos over the ict's. 8)

can you recommend me a set of dellortos and the linkage ? any link ?? have in mind that being in Argentina wil not allow me to return any wrong item once it is imported , so i will have to be 100% sure about my purchase ...

best regards

Before you spend money on new carbs, it will be wise to check/fix other potential sources for the problem like air leak or cylinder not firing etc...

The torsion bar bushing is avail from most online parts supplies. i bought for my 1302 from CIP1, WCM, etc.

i don`t really trust the og 34pict 3 .......

do you think wcm bushings are good enough ?? i don`t want to keep removing the torsion bars every year ....
