i was headed that way myself actually, when i ran across mine....
i was thinking along the lines of a sway bar repair kit from napa, something for a chevy truck, 3/4 ton or better, long enough is key here, though i'm thinking two kits would pull it off, with enough spare goodies left over for a roadside repair for one side...
i dunnae know what the measurments are and was just going to experiment since i work for napa part time and get a good discount. since i found my og's in the junk yard i didn't pursue it any further....
the link ol' boy posted before hooks me up complete, i just ordered 'em for my '68
if you want part numbers(napa) or pics or measurements, lemme know...
i'll be happy to help... |

infact, i'm thinking that between the link kits i can get, and the correct bushings from wolfsburgwest, we might even be able to come up with a decent solution that won't wreck a wallet....
more later.... |

| The Z-bar is mostly a secondary spring. It does it's thing when there is enough of a load (weight) in the car. When there is enough weight in the car, the rubber snubbers on both ends will contact the flange on the axle tubes and they will twist the middle of the Z-bar against one another, acting as a helper spring, so unless you have excess weight in the vehicle, you won't notice it's gone. However, that bar will also help keep the rear wheels from going catty wompus in a hard turn, as the bottom nuts and washers will grab the flange of the axle tube and pull on one another, helping it keep it's stance correct. |
