Well in the past I have spent 1200 bucks on a turbo setup, if you add up all the pieces and parts to make it work.
1200 Bought me a '69 Beetle.
1200 bought two of the four tires I needed, the other two ran 1800.
1200 Bought me a great Trans, if you include the several cores and shipping.
What do you want to do? I could take 1200$ and build a great motor in my shop but I have a racks of cases, cranks, heads, and so on. To ask a question like this I think whoever said "tools and books" is right on. No offense but that's like telling us that you're getting in your car and asking us where to go. |

| Correction, 800$ is what the other two tires cost. I'd love to see a set of 4k tires. |

| Its more or less to see what wish list most would want. Of course I have in mind what I'll spend it on but with all the years of knowledge out there just like to hear their advice. |

You should send it to me so I can buy a new master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, brake lines, and other bits.
Seriously, do what Jim says--save it for when you really need it...and before you know it, you're gonna need it. |

New pencil box with pencils and erasers, suntan lotion, sun visor, flip-flops, a beach umbrella and some bathing suits and beach towels.......maybe an ice chest. |

Your pic has to be somewhere on the internet, then you have to supply the entire address to it. I suggest posting the photo to the Samba gallery, it's free and you don't have to worry about it being taken down.

Fix/tune up the engine, detail it and then if you have anything left I'd go for disk breaks up front - safety first with the daughter driving it. Then (again if there's money left) you can add sport springs and lowering struts to the front, swaybars front and rear and a strut tower brace and it'll handle real nice.
That's the path I'm taking with the 72 super i'm building for my kid.
Yes, 2 Ltr Fuchs re-pops will fit just fine. I have them on my 74. |
