That is about what has been done to my '69 Baja. I have 205/75R15 A/T tires on stock wheels on it now. I want to go to a larger tire on the rear with some grip. Will a 30x9.5R15 tires mounted on stock wheels fit on the rear with no clearance problems??? I am thinking that I might have to drop down to a 29 inch tall tire.

I have only had my Baja a few months. The fenders and rear where cut when I bought it. It already had a engine cage on it. I have rewired it through a new blade type fuse block, rebuilt the carb and added a electronic distributor. I am getting to ready to patch the floor pan.

Hit Craigslist and E-bay. Until about 2 years ago I had seven dirt bikes from 1976 to 1983. I kept them all alive by smart shoppin. Used baja kits are very findable and also cheap.

don't know about where you live, but here the fender laws are pretty strict, if i ran a car with hardly any fender covering the tire i would probably get ticketed every time i went out. I've gotten a ticket for no mudflaps on my baja years ago.

German metal is worth more than fiberglass. Sell off all the German stuff and you'll have more than enough for used baja parts. Fenders, nose, hood, decklid, bumpers, engine tin, and wheels will get you $200-$300 maybe more if they are in good shape.

well all of them are in very good condition. i think there is one little rust spot on the entire car, besides the pans

I agree. If you're in a tight budget, use the Internet to sell and gain the parts you needed. Craigslist can help you. |
