Now keep in mind that Westley my Green Tin Can just rolled 126,000 miles today OEM motor . I did take out my tent and I had to remove my hubcaps . |

What is your 60 foot time. Seeing you are in England, I presumed y'all used 1000 meter instead of 1/4 mile? |

1000m?!? that's more than 1/2 mile!
try 400m, it's about 402 yards, or slightly less than 1/4 mile
(sry, couldn't help myself, used to be a serious runner) |

I am the one in the black / white Westy that ran side by side with glen thompson if you watch the video.
I ran 24.6171 1/4 mile et @ 54.02 mph with a reaction time of .0435 That is in a 1970 full Westy with a 1600 dual port and a 5 rib trans.
Not lighting fast but it was fun.
Check out the pict.

every fall we have Westies @ Watkins Glen in Watkins Glen, NY a lovely part of the Fingerlakes region with multitudes of wineries and scenic roads.
well sunday after a weekend with ~70 VWs of all ages and types we take on the Watkins Glen Intl racetrack. it's a roadcourse and is quite challenging for our vintage campers loaded to the gills with gear, pets children & bicycles. but a GREAAT time is had by everyone.
it's a treat for the track guys too, WGI does exhibition laps all through the year for many other car clubs and groups. but only once a year do we unleash the VW campers. and you'd think the roadcones would clear the underchassis
