If my svelte '70 standard is a "fat chick", then all super beetles must be "morbidly obese" :P

Actually, the original usage of fat chick when referring to a Beetle, was the Super Beetle...this was definitely the case when I had Beetles in high school in the early '70's. When you search archival literature such as media stories from the '70's, it was only the Super Beetle, not the standard Beetle, that was called a fat chick. It was only later that standards became this...probably due to the large elephant foot rear taillights, etc.

The 4-bolt definition doesn't work, since '67 Beetles had 4-bolt disc brakes in many countries, so does that make them a fat chick :wink:

I love my fat chick too......Here in Fl. they call mine a "moped"...Fun to ride till your friends see you ridin her...same thing ?
