Well after countless months, days and hours of thinking about it, I am electing to take the body off the pan to take it to the painter. If I knew I was going to do this when I started the project, it would have made things easier on myself, none the less, it is what it is. Here are a few pics of the body dolly I made out of 2x4's got done with it yesterday.
Today took all the bolts out holding the body on.
I will take some pics when I get the body on it |

well got the body off and on the dolly. It sits a little high, I will have to take about 8 inches or so off so it sits a little lower. Today I used kbs rust stop on the bottom under the package tray turned out nice will post some pics of that tomorrow. here are the pic of the body on the dolly

Waiting to take the body for paint. here are a few pics of the pan I laid down some Fat Mat turned out nice. Installed new clutch cable, refurbished the pedal assembly, used the new ultimate clutch pedal shaft featured here http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1087010 nice smooth feel. Hooked up the battery and got the engine started. Started right up and ran nice.

| When you took the A arms off did you need to do anything with the torsions? or just unblot the plates ? |

| I removed the outer cv joint first then unbolted from the spring. If you are taking it completly out. You will have to unhook the ebrake cable at the ebrake handle and push down on the arm. Then take out the 17mm pivot bolt. You only need to remove the torsion spring if you decide to lower it,which I did. PM me if you need more info. Its not difficult. |
