I thought I snapped my clutch cable so today I began work on installing the new one on my manual 68 bug. Anyways, I took out the pedal assembly and looked inside and my clutch cable is still intact. I tried pulling it out but it seems as if maybe it slipped of the hook on the pedal assembly? Also, attached to the back of my clutch pedal there is a metal loop, what's this for.
I really don't want to mess with installing a new cable if all it needs is a reattachment.
Any input helps, thanks guys |

| check the bowen tube still has the correct bend. the clutch cable can stretch or become frayed leaving a few strands left holding the cable together. check the spring on the throw out bearing shaft arm has not sprung. |

| It should also have a rubber "bumper" on it. Most have gotten old and fallen apart. |
