Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the switch shown below? I'm unsure if this is the exact one I have or something similar, but the lights on the mechanisim themselves do not light up, and since this unit does not automatically click off, I tend to leave turn signals on for quite a while. Thanks in advance.

Go here and do a SEARCH for "turnsignal"..... There is at least 3 different scenarios that you can wire the "Chinese" turnsignal switch........

How is the quality of that switch?
I have a different aftermarket switch in my car and it's junk. It's chrome with a green plastic tip and is sold at many hot rod shops. |

Its "ok".... Its a "chrome" plastic housing and as long as you don't smack it with your knee to many time it will last.... I have one about to self destruct but its been bumped several times (my fault)... It does not self cancel ... Only thing missing on it is "lift to dim" switch....
Unfortunately anything really good cost upwards to $100 or more ....
Check GROTE industries.....
Another thing to consider....

OK now these are the trick turn signal switch that i have found. I'm putting an aluminum dash in my bug and getting rid of the stock steering column and building a new one. I've ordered these and hope to see them soon. check out the link.

Why not just use a stock VW turn signal switch.
If you have combined brake and turn signal in the rear, use a 60-61 bug switch, if you have seperate brake and turn in the rear, use a 62-67 switch.
66-67 switches have the head light dimmer built in. |

I used to have a 60 to 61 switch, but it broke.
I might get a repro 56 to 59 switch. I've heard that the quality is pretty good and they run about 85 bucks. |

Speedway motors has a neat turn light set up that uses two small push buttons that is pretty cool, I going to use one on my buggy.
