1972 standard beetle, stock suspension, front tires 195 65 15 rear tires 215 70 15 all on 5.5 inch wide rims.Absolutely zero tire clearance, rubbing or contact issues at all. Car sits too nose high and I would like to balance look a little, either by dropping the front 2 inches or raising the rear 1.5 or so inches. If using the drop spindles will I likely have tire rubbing issues ?? .What negative issues might occur from raising the rear a little ??

drop spindles are going to drop you down to 2 1/2 inches. dont belive you can get 2 inch. i run 145 65 and dont have rubing problems but i am a bit narrower than you. as far as raising the rear i dont belive there would be any affects. except for messing with your caster.

If you're sitting nose-up, then the rear torsion bars are probably sagging. You can re-index them to raise the back so the car is level, and it shouldn't hurt anything. You'll probably just be raising it back to original height.

Here are more or less your two options.
Stock
Stock rear, CB drop spindles up front. 195/65 out back 185/65 up front. Rubbed due to poor 8 spoke offset, didnt rub with 145's
2" narrowed beam, stock spindles, dropped one outer notch out back.
195/60 up front 205/60 out back
