I was wondering if a SVDA distributor and a 34pict-3 carb would work efficiently on a stock 1500 single port, with stock exhaust.
I currently have a Solex H30/31pict and an 009, i cant seem work out the bugs. It's on a 68 bug

I sent that question to to Aircooled.net tech help and his answer was :

"the dist and carb must match. The 34-3 will not fit the SP intake (so you know)."

After searching for the answer on this forum, I thought this combo would work? Do I need to change the manifold? If not, what would be better than what I currently have?

i would take a close look at the condition of that Bocar carb first. nothing wrong with a 30 pict carb. if i were you, i would talk to keifernet about buying a rebuilt rebushed 30 pict GERMAN carb from him and go from there.
you may find that the distributor will work fine with a nice fresh 30 pict

Could you tell me what the original dist./ carb. set up was? The engine number is H5271374

They are correct that the 34PICT-3 will not fit the manifold.

The Bosch 019 works well with the Solex H30/31PICT

Is the 019 a vacuum advance?
