Ugly old dash ... non-functioning vents and all.

New CIP1 dash vents arrived.

The entire vent apparatus thing wasn't working before.
Summer in the sw is just around the corner ... it seems.

OK someone just told me the vents are supposed to face the front.
All right; sounds good, but how's the driver to get any airflow ...
or does the air flow onto the windshield first?

.... hoses are trashed - they're just for testing ...
hey at least its working now.

Handling a few important details: like replacing a worn steering bearing and re-installing the loose column.

Finally got the air vents positioned correctly, facing front.
Since oem dash pad isn't there I'll be trimming down the vents.

Finished rear window 'Rawhide" trim last week:
Cold, wet, rainy weather dictates a slow pace.

If the weather stays warm I might get the new Model 110 style headliner installed.

Replaced the steering bearing, anit-rattle sleeve & stabilized the column.

Installed the new foam-backed oem style headliner; "Spray-Tack-ed" it in place.
The stuff is amazing ... it holds the fabric perfectly in place while you stuff the excess into the roof channels.
Its also high temperature resistant for hot surfaces. Looks a lot better than bare metal. :bug_blue:

....

Pictures don't due it justice - it's a nice fawn-colored oem material.

hats off to you on the budget headliner, I always liked the look of standards (non deluxe) interior much better, its cleaner and less crap to keep after, 8)

thanks -

Here's the side window trim panels cut and ready to be attached / cemented.
Windows seals make fine helping hands to grip contoured edges.

BEFORE

And now ....

"Fine Corinthian Leather"

Trim panels in place, new well carpet covers the seams.
Rawhide will cover entire rear metal surround.

...

.... this is by no means a "deluxe interior"
think of it more like a tough rolling office.

What else to do in-between winter storms but install new upholstery and carpet of course.

FINALLY GETTING INTO THE MODERN ERA OF SAFETY
WITH NEW RETRACTOR SEAT BELTS

DogN8tor Wed Mar 10, 2010 7:44 pm

Sloppy front end was rebuilt; straightened out the tweaked column / tube.
All four ball joints, left tie rod etc. were replaced with new parts.
Car sure drives nice, steering is smooth & sure ... almost like new.

Finally got the re-upholstered rear seat installed.
....

Last, but not least, car was emission tested at ADOT and
passed with a perfect low score.
