Hi Professor Dread.
I've popped back in to say a big than you for doing this write up. It's been extremely useful resource for me as I also needed to replace my floor and repair the front steps.
I've been picking through it since just before christmas and last night I finally got the primer on.
gone from this:
to this:
If the weather improves I'm hoping to get some top coat on tomorrow.
you've made it a lot less daunting a job.
Thank you :) |

Saraj, that looks great. Did you put in a whole full-width pan or patch pieces?
Also, what kind of paint is that? It looks great and really smooth with only a few dust spots. |

thanks Chubber,
It's a complete klassic fab cab floor. The fit was really pretty good.
As for the paint, it's a high build 2k primer. I can check the brand name when i'm in work tomorrow but it's nothing fancy.
I used some etch primer from an aerosol on the bare metal parts first, then 3 coats of the high build.
It's pretty cold here at the moment and we've had frost the past few nights so i was a bit worried about it hardening properly but it had gone off ok when i went back this morning to do the top coat (neptune blue).
Figners crossed that dries and hardens up tonight. We dont have a proper paint booth to bake it unfortunatley.
I've done a build thread on another forum i use but not sure if it's ok to post a link to it on here? |
