I'm getting a new gas tank for my rail buggy...replacing my 8" X 30" with a 10" X 30". Should I stay with aluminum or go with polished stainless?
I'm leaning towards the stainless but I've had a few guys tell me they scratch real easy. Not sure if this is true or even a real issue. That said, my rail is primarily a street machine so not sure it will see much abuse.
What do you guys think.
Thanks, Toby |

I'd prefer the polished stainless tank due to having a lot of chrome on the motor already...though a new aluminum tank wouldn't look all that bad either.
There are likely no real concerns with choosing either just thought I would throw the question out there...maybe someone had an experience that may influence the purchase one way or the other. |

| I agree with the fuel cell idea. If you want it to look better, have a cover built for it out of any material you choose: ie: stainless or aluminum. Stainless is also stronger than aluminum so it should hold up much better against scratchs. |

| Go with what you prefer. Stainless looks good and is stronger and durable than aluminum. |

fuel cell for sure. If you tip the buggy over and the gas cap comes off it will dump gallons of fuel on you and the motor. thats ALWAYS a bad combo. If you check the classifieds you can get a used one or Jegs has them pretty cheap as well.
good looking buggy! |

think about what you are going to use the area above or below your tank for also.
