| I spent time searching the forums but am having trouble or getting impatient. I just did the swap, welded in the brackets, but when I set the trans in the frame horns, the cv's rub the frame horns. The trans is out of a Thing. Is this normal? Any links to a fix? Cut and weld or beat with a hammer? Help! this project is growing old. |

| you can do a few things... i just cut some oval shapes out of the frame horns untill i got some clearance and then i took some plate and coverd the hole back up! so now i have some notches for the cv's. |

rider307g, if you look at nilza's post (a little further down the page), you can see what green bug guy is talking about. It's a pretty cool thread to read anyway...
Edit.... I guess I should have mentioned there is a pic somewhere in the thread showing this. |

| if I cut notches in the frame horn to clear CVs I would run a brace up each side from the trans mount at the back of the frame horn to the firewall or roll cage. |

my experience says this is a must do even if you dont have to notch the horns |

| i just took a bfh to mine to make clearance. Thinking about adding some angle or I-beam to the bottom of the horn for more strength. I like the notching idea, but i want to wait until i get bigger cvs so i don't do it twice. |
