| Could be my ISP is having DNS problems, too; just thought I'd note it in case it helps identify a site problem. |

Yes, I have seen it happen a few times too but only for very short periods, like 5-15 seconds.
I'm checking it out. |

| Yes, reloading the page works, but not right away. I tried exiting and re-entering IE, but that doesn't seem to matter. I just browse something else for a minute or two, and come back. |

My web site is being slow right now.
And my webmaster for the server is camping in the desert in AZ this weekend. |

| I'm seeing it as well. I thought it was a problem on my end with my ISP, but I'm getting the same thing from the office too. |

| I'm seeing it also, but I don't think it's DNS. I access the site from two sites and the two use different resolvers. |

It's been happening to me, as well. Usually everything goes back to normal a few minutes later.
Who would've thought that type2.com would be responding faster than thesamba? |

Maybe type2.com does not have close to 1000 users at one time. |

Timing out isn't related to speed, only connectivity. |

That was the weird thing about type2.com...no one was using the site and it was still hella slow.
It is cool that you can search the archives of type2.com again...there's some good info in there. |

| Just a note to say this is annoying me and it's being looked into but I basically have to catch it right when it is happening to check things out. |

i've been getting more and more "time out" messages in the past week or so. this has not been happening to me on any other site i go to.
i get a lot of "Connecting to thesamba.com" and "waiting for thesamba.com" messages before a page loads or times out.
for example, this has happened about 3 times in the last hour:
site timed out, chat timed out, nothing loading. refreshing does not help. however, yahoo is working just fine.
yes, i deleted cookies and history and all that stuff, also defragged earlier today. |

| Add me to the list. I almost sent Glenn a PM, but then I saw this thread. It's happening to me like clockwork, from multiple computers (work & home). Just now I wanted to check my PMs so I signed in, typed a reply, then it lost all connectivity and timed out for like 3 minutes when I tried to send. The server is responding to my requests, but no information is being sent back. I get 'website found, waiting for reply' then it goes d-e-d. |

| I got the "time out" "page not found" error 3 diffrent times tonight between 7:00 and 7:30 P.M. PST. If it helps, I was trying to access classified ads and then when I finally hit forums, it loaded ok but maybe its coincidence. |

Yes, it was timing out for a more extended period tonight.
On one hand this was bad but on the other it was "down" long enough for it to be investigated.
Some changes have been made and hopefully the problem is either resolved or reduced to be very infrequent until it can be solved altogether. Time will tell.
On a related note I did some investigation and this problem probably began occurring mid-December due to an automated software update. However it has been worse lately. |
