What a coincedence! I am re-doing my front end right now too. I should have it back together by the end of this month though, maybe early February.

Here are the photos I took today at the Baja Cup Challenge. Keep in mind these are with my IPhone, so some aren't in very good focus. I am sure OldTowd will post up his, he had a much better digital camera then I did. We had a good time, and saw some really cool cars. I had several good conversations with DustyMojave and his Son Warren, in between tech inspection sessions. Definitely a good time!

This one was really interesting! That is a six cylinder Mercury Outboard motor... it was hooked up to an Audi automatic transmission using a sprint car differential. A neat piece of engineering, and the sound that came out of that car was very unique!

Talk about a short exhaust system! Just those two curved pipes with SuperTraps on them. Needless to say it was quite loud, but sounded very cool!

Here is Warren doing tech inspection on the car - the second shot you can see DustyMojave and his wife on the other side of it.

Some of the other cars....

Some action shots...

I am definitely going to pre-run this course this year. They have four races there each year, and with a helmet you can run the track in the morning without having to pay an entry fee. That would be a fun way to spend the day, guys! Run the track in the morning, and kick back and watch the races the rest of the day...

What is the date of the next race?

Skidmark Sun Jan 10, 2010 12:47 pm

I don't know... I am not sure if they have posted the schedule yet.

man I need to move to the West Coast

Awesome pictures, thanks for posting. Is this an off-road area that is open for low travel buggies to blast around in during the week or off race weekends? I don`t mind having to pay to play, I just wanna putt around with my new 2.3 turbo 4ord and put some hours on it and work out any minor probs, before I make a long haul out to Glamis or Blythe.

you can buy track time but i think it is around $300 per day. you would be better off waiting till the next baja cup and do the 2 hr pre run for $15...
