So lately my wife has been working a lot of late shifts and the past couple of months she's been carpooling with a male co-worker. At first I didn't mind as it saves gas and in case she has car trouble or somthing like that, but it seems like they've become a little bit more than friends. You know....the phone calls that hang up, she starts wearing nice clothes to work and talking about him all the time...then abruptly stops leaving an uncomfortable silence.
If I'm out in the garage when she gets home (usually after midnight) he just drops her off and leaves, but if the lights are off in the garage and I'm in the house (they think I'm sleeping) they sit out in the car for about 20 minutes.

I asked her once what they were doing and she said, "Just talking". Whatever!

So, last night I decided to see what's really going on out there. So, I leave the garage door open and turn all the lights off. I go out in the garage and wait. In a few minuts his car pulls into my driveway and as I'm hiding behind the Baja the headlights shine through my garage and I see something that I just can't believe.

Looks like I have a drip coming from the back of the valve cover. How long should I let it go before I fix it?

Gotcha!!!!

I'd keep an eye on my oil level If I were you....

I would "fix" the problem now before it gets worse.

My oldest daughter had to tell me that mom was in the jacuzzi
with that Glen guy from church while I was at work !

I wish that WAS a joke....

Fix your leak.
It's not just your garage floor but you're slopping up the earth!

I have a *very* friendly cat that I tell people is like my ex: she likes to sleep with the neighbors.

Ya know that old saying "When's the best time to fix your oil leak..........Before someone else does!

mtbextremex Thu Jan 07, 2010 5:03 pm

I vote you wipe up the oil spill and use it as accelerant to light the "co-workers" car on fire. Or you could just use some silicone and fix the leak. Either way I'd take care of the problem!

Is it just me ?
Or is this the most Fu@ked up thread you have
ever contributed to?

ZARJDR Thu Jan 07, 2010 7:18 pm

you were in the garage working on your car and you "noticed" what time your wife got home..... focus man, focus

Nicksan Thu Jan 07, 2010 7:38 pm

If it were true, I would simply see it as the more time the wife is away, the more time I would have to work on the baja....

funny, this is good.....and just when I was thinking keep your cool, cut the brake line or stick a screw driver in the sidewalls. Or spray paint the taillights while they're in the car. Heck even hair remover in the shampoo LOL

this has too be one of my favorite posts i have ever read

joescoolcustoms Thu Jan 07, 2010 8:37 pm

My wife told me I could bring "one" home if she also cleaned the house.

Maybe you can get her "friend" to help work on the baja.

jamesmanxbuggy Thu Jan 07, 2010 10:42 pm

dang haha you had me for a min thats pretty good pull off the valve cover and put some good cork gaskets in there i like to use a thin bead around the valve cover side of the gasket just to hold it in place during installation and to prevent leaks if you have empi valve covers use more silicone lol

Lotrat Thu Jan 07, 2010 11:01 pm

I like to soak the cork valve cover gaskets in oil before installing them. My buddy says that I'm crazy and calls me stupid cork soaker.

Some very funny comments.......cork soaker huh? Very funny indeed.

If he keeps her in the car for and additional 20 minutes 3 nights per week, (excluding major holidays and "flow" days) thats between 38-46 hours per year of work on the car.

Hello.....Can I get her co-workers phone #, I need the extra time on my car too!

Back when VW valve cover gaskets were pure cork, we did have to soak them in warm water to get them to fit. They would shrink while sitting on the shelf in parts.

I didn't think you were a cork soaker... til now.
