Ok, so I've just replace all of the tie rods and ends on my 74 sb. I know I need to adjust the toe at this point, but I'm having a bit of trouble getting it right. I guess I'm looking for a few pointers on the best way to go about getting it set correctly. What techniques do you guys use/ what tools?
Thanks

| Although the Beetle is designed for a DIY at home alignment, the best thing to do with a Super (and it's sensitive suspension) is have it done computerized at a professional shop. |

| Put a mark or thumb tack in the center of the tire and push the car untill the mark is at the same level as the spindel at front of car. Measure distance between the two marks, then role the car backwords untill the mark is at spindel height at rear. The distance at the front should be 1/8" less at front position. 1/8" toe in. | Vics way will get you in the ballpark... but I agree with superman, if you want it dead nuts and to last/keep your tires from wearing funky get a computerized alignment from a competent front end shop. |

| Keith, what the hell are you doing in your avatar? To mrklaw, you got a bentley? I think I remember an alignment procedure in there in the strut suspension part. |

That would be welding on new vert support rails on a upside down 66 body... got tons of pic's of the whole process on that one, gonna post them somewhere one day, just not sure when/where. |
