I am sure between all of us we can get someone to go get you. But WHY are you flying instead of driving?

cuz you cant beat $39 and an hour long flight!

I know what you mean. I flew to BB and it was very relaxing.

Wimps. Does that mean there is going to be a parking lot for of rental cars?

If you fly, are you gonna carry-on the spare engine full of water?

wow, that really changes the dynamic of the weekend.
there's nothing going on at the shop after CTS? so people are either gonna head home or to greensboro on saturday afternoon?

we'll be there, just don't know when.

southeastvw Sat Jan 16, 2010 9:29 am

We will probably have something going on at the Track on Saturday night for those that are headed up there. Just not sure what as I don't know what is planned at the track that evening.

At this rate Franks ratio of success V failure at actually driving an air cooled anything is as bad as mine is for driving my singlecab to anything. Frank, its OK you can drive the Blazer again this yer.

MMMMM.. I can't wait

Daniel G Sun Jan 31, 2010 12:38 am

I'll be there. Perhaps in a Bus instead of my Beetle. But in a VW nonetheless. Deathbus you gonna be there? Preferably not pulling your engine for a seal change in a alcohol induced night of hilarity?

Andrew Sun Jan 31, 2010 7:44 am

I guess this means I gotta find a rusty ass part for a tetanus award again...

I'm pretty bummed about this, too, to be completely honest. Lots of people travel for this event, and I guess this means that they will either miss the party (which really gives this event its unique character) or miss work on Friday. I get it, I'm just bummed.

Well, It was getting to the point that the street outside the shop was packed with people on Friday night. so in a way we were having an unofficial GTG on Friday and the official open house on Saturday. I think that most of the people who travel wind up missing Thursday or Friday from work anyways and it was mostly those people who were crashing at the shop on Friday, which has become more and more people each year.
I like the set up we have had each year but we have been asking someone to step up and organize an event the day after. it just happens that that will be in Greensboro and I for one am not up for a 2 hour drive early Sunday if we party all night Saturday.

Am I the only one that is figuring on a Master's Inn style hotel party in Greensboro Saturday night? We may not be welcomed back next year, but it will be great this year.

southeastvw Wed Feb 03, 2010 7:38 am

I found out that there is a Nostalga Race at the track that evening, so will have to see what time we can get in without paying. Or we do have all that room outside the gate that we can hang out in!
We will figure out something so the party can continue!

I know you do, but other people might be wondering the same thing an I figured an explanation might be warranted.
