i asked this question over in body and paint and got no response. my question is im taking the body off and the only thing i have left is the two bolts that hold the rear suspention to the body. if i take these bolts out is anything bad gonna happen. ie. spring plate spring up or anything in that nature. the car is a 69 baja, it is notched and turned all the way up for heigth, putting tention on the spring plate and tortion tubes if im correct, but im a newb so i have to ask so i dont get hurt. thanks in advance for any replies or tips... ( dont think any one replied over there cause they dont know about bajas)

Ajax, are you talking about the two bolts that are in the rear fenderwell area, near where the top shock mounts?

If so, nothing will happen but a loose body from the pan. The body does not hold the suspension on, the suspension is part of the pan and the body just bolts to the pan.

Nothing bad will happen when you remove those bolts. As long as everything else is unbolted or disconnected, you should be able to lift the body off the pan.

I did this years ago with a 1973 Bug.

All the glass had been removed as well as the fenders, hoods, electrical...just about everything. With the body stripped like that it only took two people to lift it off the pan and out of the way.

don't forget the bolts under the back seat. there are the four, and then also the one on ea. side just above where the spring plate cover's are.
