| I have a 1968 baja but I don't want to pay for the e brake disc brake kit so I'm buying the non ebrake one. my question is when I park it can I just leave it in first so it won't roll away or is that hard on the tranny or any other parts |

It will not hurt anything leaving it in gear.
But depending on the slope of your parking spot, it still may roll away. |

It will not add any additional wear to your calipers.
But all it takes is just an extreamly little by-pass leakage and the park loc is rendered in-effective and off rolls the car. Good for a short period of time, but not over a few hours or over night.
I used to carry a small wedge of wood I could lean out the door and chock under the front or rear tire depending on the slope of the parking area. |

No e-brake with a single circuit master cylinder is asking for trouble in my opinion. I'd make sure your running a dual circuit master if your going with no e-brake. I always think of the handbrake as an emergency brake that happens to be convenient for parking.
Good luck. |

| umm, save up for the e-brake... not to mention you Baja will no longer be road legal without an e-brake, if you plan on that... |

I went with a non ebrake disc kit and I am regretting it, I agree with the others, get a disc kit with an E brake.
You can get the lever at a junk yard of buy an aftermarket one. |

After working on a car with a aftermarket unit, I reccomend using a stock one if possible. IMO, the aftermarket units are junk. |

Like I told you in the PM, If you need the complete unit, it will have to be used.
I have a '75 super beetle I am parting out. I will just take it all out of that car. That way, everything is as one unit.
The NOS units I have are just the lever. |
