There used to be a hatch back kit that replaced the rear window and used two gas struts to hold it up. I remember it back when I was in High School in the early '80's.
I think it did not do well because it would take a tall person just to reach inside the car.
I think some of us americans also look funny. |

Unfortunatly, at the time it was for sale here, I did not know how to "work" pictures to save them.
It was very high tech, but looked a little heavy for a drag bug. I did see it in 2008 at the Fast Times at Farmington in Farmington NC. |
