I hope everyone having a blast at the invasion. For me maybe 2012.
Unfortunately, I have spent the last week at Henry Ford Hospital and HOPE to get sprung at the end of this week. SO I have not been working on SQBK or taking pictures. I am so close to getting this thing on the road!!

I am back home. Ready to catch up lost time. I am so close to getting this project on the road. Just waiting on some parts from Russ in Iowa to arrive. Not having the theromostat and flaps and hardware kinda slowes up the engine project.
Probably only two snags will occur. When I was cleaning the MC pushrod, I changed the length setting and will have to deal with that. I have read a thread about it. Wiring is the second. I hate chasing electrical problems and have a poor experience set. Dash wiring looks like a basket ball sized birds nest. Wish i lived in Cal where everyone seems to know about VW's.

here are some pics of what I did last few days
engine on its way
found some week spots in heat exchangers
I thought I would use fire caulk and seal up some areas. It's good for a zillion degrees and retains some flexability
Before and after of the insulation wraps (takes a long time to clean)
BOILING hot Marine Clean at 100% concentration works like a dream but you must wear a respirator !

I am back!!!!!!!! kinda. but ready to continue project!!! in rehab to re-learn to walk and a few other motor skills. Because of a change in my ability to get around, the scope of work has changed as well. I will keep everyone updated with pictures. Back into the fray !
