OK the new switch will turn the starter but the ignition will turn off(all lights go out on dash). The other switch will have the ignition on but not engage the starter. Am i missing something? I have broken 2 switches and have 2 that will work fine IF not installed. Its like the key can't turn it enough. HELP ME, I don't wanna install a push start.
Maybe its the switches I'm buying.
This is the first on. Broke, sent it back got a new one and it will turn the stater but the ignition turns off.

Hi, new to the Samba. Saw your post and I am currently having the same problem. Did the AA switch solve the problem?
I was told those cheap Brazilian switches are sometimes the problem and to go with a German switch.
I already have two new switches ($10.00 versions) and I am having the same symptoms.
1.no warning lights when I turn to the "on" position
2.no fuel pump
Is the switch on the 74 buried under the column housing?
My 75 is a bitch to access, I had to remove the column (the absolute only way to get to it)
Let me know if you got it working. |
