[quote="twinwindows"]Here you go Alex, Up loading pictures while listening to Eric B & Rakim. " I aint no joke"
These are the three exhaust systems we put together. All three are NOS. The bottom set went on Alex`s oval while the one in the middle belongs to Bad Temper II and one extra one that gets put away for a future 80`s car in the making.
Man!! I feel like I'm back in the 80's at VW Heaven retail store setting up the exhaust displays looking at these merge exhausts with dual packs layed out on the floor!!
CRG I'm thinking you might have to sell me that extra one for one of my rides so I too can be a part of the 80's party!!!! |

The Casa. One of the first clubs that took our scene to the next level and separated us from the Hollywood crowd and made us a unique scene that will never be forgotten. Who knows if this movement doesnt take off like it did, we might be all tatted up and have only the Florentine Gardens and quinceneras to talk about, not fun!

Hahahaha!!!! Florentine Gardens were all the other than LA people would flock to.
That's when our underground Disco/dance scene really took off!! I'm excited to once again be a part of this reunion at the legendary Casa!! |

Another reunion I am definetly not about to miss is the 80s Los Angeles scene reunion that will revolve around the Bad Temper 2 display at the VW Classic in a week or so. This will bring out some of the first generation Vdubbers that set-off the movement in Los Angeles and introduced the look we started calling Cal-Style. 1st generation guys like VWKidd, Ruben Navarro, Frank Ochoa, Alex Arredondo, Richie Rich etc. You learn so much insight and history being around these guys even if for a brief moment that its well worth the price of admission. By the way, what is the prevailing worldwide look of today? I think these guys deserve the respect they are deserving of for starting that look...

I was in Highland Park when CRG bought Bad Temper II, it was very sad to see the condition after so many years of neglect and traffic damage. This icon from the 80's was ready for the junk yard. Thanks to the magic touch of CRG, Bad Temper II is ready for it's So Cal release! Sorry, photo's and video will be posted after the Classic next Sunday! |

Him being from Orange county admitted to us that the fastest cars were at the time in L.A. As we start talking about the parts you cant even find anymore he invites us up stairs to check out some old school parts and there they were. An old school set of Merge headers complete, A little beat down but none the less they were the genuine article. I point blank ask him why does everyone use the new sidewinder when these were the shit? His answer made me laugh ( Monkey see monkey do) LOL!!
Who Knew, when they closed G&H in San Gabriel, the manager offered me all the Thunder bird and S&S dual headers for $10 each. Of course No Feria. They had a wall of EMPI stuff at $1-3 a piece and all I got was a hood handle shield for my brother's bug.
I heard CRG recently bought an NOS Thunderbird for $200... They are bound to get pricier as they get rarer. |

| S&S Headers just went belly up in the last few years, they were last in Arizona, I think... too many people buying cheap shit, sadly. I've got a 1-3/8 heater box single QP S&S exhaust, and it's the best system I've ever owned, hands down! |

Still running my 1 1/2 inch merged S&S that I bought from CarCustom back in 1990. More than 20 years of daily driver use and still going!! How many people can say that about china headers?
Kinda sounds like the old International light duty trucks, built to last a lifetime and they did. That meant no return customers every 5-10 years due to the trucks wearing out, no sales means out of business (at least for the light duty line). |

Well the cats out of the bag so here are some pics of this 80`s flash back. The car runs really hard and sounds and handles like it was only meant for the track but this is a street car and will hit the streets bringing nostalgia to those who remember. Thanks for all your help to those involved in building and getting it to the classic! Driving these cars a long time ago and jumping in it now you have to remind yourself to respect the power these cars have to be safe on the roads.
