This is a Happich grab handle (or so I am led to beleive)
- were they fitted to bugs and buses as standard or were they aftermarket?
Do the bug ones fit the splitty dash and visa versa?

any info appreciated.

thanks

so were they available as an aftermarket item so they could be fitted to non cabs then?

will they fit a splitty dash or is the spacing different?

A beautiful classy piece. How I wish VW had continued with it and made it standard for all model.

Not sure if this is the correct thread or not. My Westy has a matcing OEM grab handle ( brown cover over metal)on the passenger side. I'd like to mount an OEM to the driver's side as I have to climb up and in and slide down out of the seat. Presently I use the stirring wheel but I am not happy with that. Doubt I'd ever be able to get in with a skirt or long coat.

Any suggestions, solutions?

All early verts had them as standard equipment. 58-60 model year verts had a hard "formed" type handle that contoured to the ridge on the dash. 61 model year started ivory rubber handle with chrome ends.

The one on the left is an accessory for a 58-60 beetle sedan. The middle is for 57 and earlier beetle sedan and vert (bus?), right is 58-60 Vert

Left oval sedan/vert, Right 58-60 Sedan

57 and earlier

58-60 convertible only

On what cars was this one used original?
VW nr. 151 857 641
and how much you think its worth?
(nos)

the 151 part number shows that it is a convertible part but year unknown to me. Being that the chrome bases are flat I would guess oval or earlier.
