I know I've got a bit of fuel leaking from my carb...but it almost looks like its leaking from the Empi logo? Look at the brown mark where I've circled...

That would be pretty weird wouldn't it? Should I try to seal it with some silicone or some high temp gasket stuff? What do you guys think? :?

I'm not real familiar with the carb. but could the empi logo be a block off welded on. I know ive heard of people taking dimes $ or pennies $ and spot welding them on carbs. to block off vacuum holes or what ever, some one know if it is a block off piece or not?, i would just try some silicone on and around it- would not be as noticeable as sealant..

Skid - put some rags under that area and spray it with some Berryman's. That should knock all the gunk off and down onto the rags. Watch your eyes when you spray that stuff and no smoking / closed garages with water heaters nearby either. Then watch it closelyand see if you can see a line or crack. Use a magnifying glass if you have to. I am inclined to say that if it is a plug you might be able to JBWeld around it. Silicone typically will swell and get eaten by gasoline. With so much alcohol in fuels today typical sealers that used to be gasoline impervious aren't any more. You engine is quite clean and the down side is that drips like that show up from time to time. The good news is that they are caught early before they do damage. I vaguely recall one of my 34-pict-3's from my 1971 leaking in that same area but it has been a long time ago.

I cleaned that area up a couple of weeks ago with carb cleaner and it was sparklin' clean and everything, the brown leak appeared again not too long after. I don't think its leaking that much or often, just..sometimes. I don't know when though, a little droplet will appear under that stud where the carb screws into the intake manifold whenever its bored.

After I posted I thought about my old buddy JB Weld! So I'll probably try that instead of silicone or gasket sealer.
