I am in need of sunroof pics of the inside shots, preferably early 53 and earlier. i already have a Standard roof with the skylights inner structure, i need to know what a earlier one looks like.
Thanks Jer. |

| I know Gerson has a couple early sunroof buses. You could always email him. I could snap some shots for you if you want, I'm going to see him in about a month, if you could wait that long. |

Wow, its nothing like the later sunroof standards then where you have the skylight pressings like in a 21 or 23 window bus. Wonder why they used a different configuration for standards? Seems very inefficient compared to what they did in later years. |

Deep pressing for the windows took longer to make and the cost may have been a factor
as soon as VW redesigned this window section and made the pressing
shallow then all sunroofs had inner skylights
From barndoor dk
It may be a little hard to see in the pictures, but the profile is something like in this drawing.
Searching through the picture register, I have found that the change is between chassis
number 20-043809 and 20-049493. |
