i am changing over to carbs from FI because the FO had a bad engine fire, tried to save the FI but all of it is gone, like to know how i should wire the coil from the fuse from the ignition switch? do i have to ground the coil? and do i have to run a lead to the distribtor? thanks for the help

The 15 terminal on the coil must have +12V from the ignition switch.
From the other connector on the coil a wire goes to the points and condenser. |

| i have the lead going to the coil, been checking the bentley manual, i think there is a black lead that comes back from the ignition switch, i think i have to run a lead from the battery or the regulator? |

Nope, the ignition wiring doesn't change whether the bus has FI or not. The black #15 wire from the ign switch is in the harness hanging down from the booster fan, there is no fuse. The black fused wire on the left side is for the backup lights and gets it's power from the coil terminal, it also supplied the double relay, tape up that branch of the wire.
Unless you went on some sort of crazy wire yanking tear in there you shouldn't have to do anything to the regulator. |

| the wiring and the fan was burned up in the fire the PO had, i am switching to carbs because the FI is trashed. I am following the wiring diagram in the bentley manual. the 3 wires (1 red and 2 black that come back on the right through the wall next to the fuel line were do they go. the double relay is out |

One of those black wires is the power from the ign switch and went to the coil, the other may be the same or may have power all the time (the alternator D+ wire for the test network is also black), the red wire comes from the starter terminal and is constant battery power for the booster fan. |

You will know that you have the ignition wire when you find the oil pressure switch wire inside the same harness.
