I recently discovered this radio in the many boxes of parts i have from a project car i've bought. I've searched to get some information on it but cannot find anything relevant. What is the K range of frequency and can this be fit to a beetle?

Hi there, K is FM. The other 2 are Long wave and Medium wave. (L & M)

I am sure it will fit to your beetle, assuming it has the correct voltage and negative earth, but the faceplate looks a little on the large side I reckon, still you can get alternatives, or stick with that one if it is the original and you like the look of it!

There is a chap on here named Rich Oakley who knows all there is to know about these old radios, and actually lives close to you I think, maybe he will give anymore information?!

Si.

The bit that confuses me it that on the "K" range it goes from 51-48, as far as i'm aware FM goes from about 87-108. I can't find any info on what range is 51-48 though.

K is shortwave not FM. There's no FM on this radio.

Just bought the same one. It is a German radio, "k" stands for "Kurz" which means short. This should be appropriate for all VW's 68-70
