| I have a 69 bus I recently purchased,it won't start but it turns over and won't stop. I can pull the keys out, disconnect the starter, pull the coil wire, and it still tries to crank. I replaced the Ignition but the Gray wire that goes to the door contact? is missing,it was broken off the old ignition could this wire not being hooked up be the source of my problem? the only way it will shut off is if I pull the battery. If I try to reconnect it sparks unless I wait 5 minutes. It has an alternator not a generator with B and D connection. |

If the starter solenoid plunger is sticking, battery voltage will be applied to the starter no matter what you do with the key. If the solenoid is not sticking, then it is being signalled without your consent. See if there is a botched hot-start relay hooked up with the little wire that is push-connector attached to the solenoid.
