March will be here before you know it and it will be time for the Street Challenge that will be held during the Silver Dollar Showdown in Reynolds, Ga on March 14th.
Are YOU in for the Vintage Performance Street Challenge? Let's see what your Street machine can do on a 30 mile cruise and 3 1/4 mile time runs down the track!

Rules are listed at http://www.kandlmotorsports.com/silverdollar/vintagestreetinfo.htm

I will get preregistered. And I HOPE there isn't any of that "limit the cruise to 10 miles" crap this year. If your car can't survive a 30 mile trip, it shouldn't be in the Street Challenge.

Might decide to do to the cruise on Saturday night from the hotel. This way it would free up time on Sunday morning.
We can go to a cruise in at Steak n Shake in Warner Robins.

:( I probably won't get to participate, then.

oh ok, We hadn't decided on that yet, just a thought.

Will you be just coming down day of show? Or just be in that area late.

What ? here you go already trying to change the rules.....

southeastvw Wed Feb 10, 2010 5:37 am

Huh?
USE had a good cruise the night before their race and made for a better time frame on trying to get it all done day of show.
It is just a thought anyhow, guess it all depends on the amount of participants as well.

MinamiKotaro Wed Feb 10, 2010 8:06 am

Actually, I should be able to participate. I keep forgetting that Dyno Day is already in Warner Robins.

southeastvw Wed Feb 10, 2010 8:30 am

well, after thinking about what all we got going on on Sunday, we don't have any extra classes like times before, so we should be able to get everyone there by a specific time in order to get everything done and ready when time runs start.
Yeah, i realize what CHarles was talking about. That would actually change the rules of the game as anyone would have a chance to do something to their car and not go straight from the cruise to the staging lanes.

Still going to have that cruise in the night before. Just got to get the specfics on where it is.

I was just messing wiff MinamiKotaro... But you have a good point there Kathy !

mbugz60 Wed Feb 10, 2010 11:35 am

I thought about trying to squeeze this into my schedule this year, but my bug does not qualify as a street car in this class. Oh well, more time to work on the 50.

southeastvw Wed Feb 10, 2010 2:36 pm

Yeah Charles, I really thought you were talking to me. Then I got to thinking about the rules and not being able to change anything from the cruise to time runs.

Mike, sorry you can't make it. I know some of us will miss your cooking you do that day!

Lord, don't tear up your car on the Dyno in Florida this weekend.

See you guys on Friday, or Thursday for that matter. We are leaving that afternoon.

Watercooled and aircooled will be in different classes, right?

southeastvw Wed Feb 17, 2010 11:23 am

This is all one class. Nothing will be broke up. We have had a couple of watercooled in the class in the past.

This is from the rules page.....

Looks like a fun event. I've never been to one like that. Do any busses participate?
