Just a few weeks away from the The Vintage Performance Street Challenge So who's in?
For more info on the rules of the Street Challenge go to http://www.kandlmotorsports.com/silverdollar/vintagestreetinfo.htm

If you plan to be in the challenge the cruise starts at the track at 9am sharp, have your cars ready and get there early to register.

Yeah, i realize what CHarles was talking about. That would actually change the rules of the game as anyone would have a chance to do something to their car and not go straight from the cruise to the staging lanes.

It's important to have the cruise immediately before the racing for that very reason ......... Have to run the cars in the exact condition they're driven in on the street. Also have to be able to make the cruise & all 3 passes on the same tank of fuel - no adding fuel during the cruise or between rounds & no swapping DOT street legal tires for slicks after the cruise.

Why doesn't your car qualify? I've seen it & as long as you make the weight & don't have a spool, it should be fine.

For those of you that will be doing the Street Challenge, have everything ready and get to the track early to get registered!

DON'T FORGET THE TIME CHANGE!

southeastvw Wed Mar 10, 2010 2:53 pm

9am is the start time for the cruise. So be sure that you are ready to go.
If you get there a little late, be sure to check out and see if they are still at the track. There is always the chance of not starting on time. Like last year when half of the who stayed at the hotel was late, due to the hotel NOT changing their clocks to the time change! :?

As for rules, as long as it is street legal it should be good. If you are not sure, just come on by where everyone is and ask.

Gonna be some FUN!

Keith and I would like to say thanks to Kurt Mezger for making the trip down. The Vintage Street Challenge, didn't happen this year with only 3 cars that showed up wanting to be in it! So Kurt gave them all $75 each just for being there. They ended up getting in the brackets or test for the rest of the day. We certainly appreciate Ann and Kurt at Vintage Performance for their support over the years with this class. We will probably be doing something different with them for the future.

I don't have upholstered door panels and I would not make the weight requirement with a turbo.(1875 with me in it.)
