Positive or negative, whatever you got! No seriously?!

So, here we go, picked up these crestlines some time ago, they sat for who knows how long outside, then a couple more years at my place:

Dropped them off to be soda blasted, guy said that they were so bad he had to hit them with walnut... then soda:

Picked them up, man are there some pits, wasn't planning on spending a butt load of time on them, but now, after a little time I'm thinking I'm gonna have to hit them with some sand paper to get them "super shiny":

So, do I just polish them as best as can and "rock em" with "character", or spend so serious time with sandpaper getting them "smooth"? I'd have to take off a good deal of material, and still might not get ALL the pitting

If your serious about keeping them, I'd fill the pits, and powdercoat them. Maybe even a two tone powdercoat.

Depends on the car their going on.

If you've got an original paint/patina car, then rock them as is.

If you've got a car that's restored, then rock them as is.

x2 "then rock them as is!"

Well, I'll put it this way, the car is '56 Oval, flat black (not primer), but it might eventually get painted Diamond Green...

I'd sand out that lip a little more, not 100% but more than you have so far. finish sanding with 1500 grit wet/dry and then polish with some liquid polish like flitz or whatever so the lip has a nice brite shine. and then paint the centers with something like penitrol to seal from further corrosion. keep the lips raw aluminum so you can polish them once a month or so.

Polished lips for sure...

Baller status.

Brushed lips, so bolt it up to the rear drum while in the air, put her in drive and hold some sandpaper to 'em! Then, clear, then, roll 'em.
