| I just purchased a 1978 westfalia. It's green, has wood floor and is in in great condition besides typical rust under the winshield and battery tray. The only problem is the type for engine is in about four different boxes. |

Congrats on getting your bus. Sticking that engine back together will stand you in good stead for the future!
While you have no engine in there, change all the fuel lines behind the fire wall. Lots of info on how to do that on this site. Cheap, easy and potential bus and life saver. |

Moving the fuel filter only applies to early bays ('68-71) with an upright motor. Your later bay already has the fuel filter outside the engine compartment (or at least it should).
Early bay:
Your later bay(underneath outside the engine bay):

| Ok now that I've got the engine, the previous owner said there was a problem with one of the cylinders and that was about it. Should I split the block and get everything nice and shiny or just try to look for the problem and rebuild from there? |
